We’re talking Ete Swimwear

Posted on December 5, 2017

Swimwear (noun) /`swim, wer,/ : clothing worn for swimming.
Introducing Ete Swimwear: the definition of swimwear. Jess started this label in her home state of Western Australia in 2016 with the aim of creating a swim line that was as functional as it is fashionable—Ete Swimwear believes that no one should have to hold back their inner adventuress for the sake of looking amazing at the beach. Ete Swimwear (pronounced Eh-Teh) is your resource for swimsuits with hand-painted, unique watercolour designs that will make you stand out and feel beautiful. We caught up with Jess to learn more about her and her label—one with a dual philosophy of strength and beauty that all women can get behind.

Our go to piece this summer is the Amanda One-Piece.

Q. How & why did you get into the swimwear business?

A. I have always loved fashion and wanted to work in the industry for a while. I also LOVE the beach and travelling so swimwear came as a natural choice to me. I have always been quite entrepreneurial and had plenty of ideas to start my own business and decided that I needed to choose one and run with it! So Ete Swimwear was born.

Q. Who is Ete Swimwear designed for?

A. Ete Swimwear is designed for the Feminine Adventurer! Girls who love to feel as comfortable as they do confident and beautiful in their own skin.

Q. How do you find inspiration when coming up with a new collection and where do you begin?

A. I usually don’t follow any trends, I just design what I like which is pretty prints, colours, and feminine shapes. I get inspiration from travelling and getting outdoors, there’s no better way.

Q. You ship all over the world. What advice would you give to gals and guys wanting to start their own business?

A. The best piece of advice I could give is to just get started! The thing that makes someone successful is that they get out there and just do it, without hesitation. Its a lot of hard work and perseverance, I’ve learnt a lot along the way.

Q. Running your own business involves long days. What do you do to unwind?

A. I’m still learning this part! It’s sometimes so hard to stop working on something you love but I’ve been doing a bit of yoga and pilates lately which is really great to unwind, and also heading down to the beach of course 🙂

Q. Latest trend down at the beach your obsessing about?

A. I don’t usually follow the trends, because if everyone else is already doing it, why should we! I like to stay true to my personal style and design swimwear that is unique with hand painted prints by my boyfriend so we can truly stay one-of-a-kind.

Q. What is the hardest working beauty product in your cupboard?

A. Definitely a good cleanser!

Quick 5

Your bag is never without: Pawpaw ointment

Go to MUSQ product: I have so many, but it would have to be the Gel Cleanser

Signature scent: I have a few, but I am loving Marc Jacobs Daisy for a summery scent

Makeup philosophy: Less is best! I try not to wear it when I can, I love a fresh faced feeling.

Life philosophy:  Do what you love, and always seek happiness!
